Essay: The article states that, bread was the first grain based food in ancient

The article states that, bread was the first grain based food in ancient time and the article provides three reasons to support it. However, the professor explains that, it was not the first grain based food and she refutes each of the author’s opinion.

First, the reading claims that, wheat could be prepared by grinding because, it was very hard to eat and people used to crush it into paste form. The professor contradicts this point by saying that, people did not grind wheat. She states that, people used to sprout the wheat in moist area. Sprouted wheat was sweat, soft and more nutritious.

Second, the article posits that, fermenting made people to bake the bread and they store it for a longer time. In contrast, the professor asserts that, fermentation was a quick process to convert wheat into bear. According to the professor, fermentation caused bubbles and foam. People discovered first bear by tasting the foam.

Finally, the reading passage says that, if paste was placed in open area than yeast spores settled on it and began fermenting the wheat and it was easier to eat when baked. However, the professor casts doubt by saying, in prehistoric times the idea to bake food was impossible because people did not bake food.
