This topic is a little hard. Welcome to give me some advice in viewpoints or language. I’ll appreciate that.
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People should read only those books that are about real events, real people, and established facts. Use specific reasons and details to support your opinion
When we were children, we fell asleep in the fair tales telling. After a little older, we spent a lot of time watching animated cartoons, and now many students, even adults, love to watch Avatar. In fact, imaginary events and people accompany us the whole lives. Thus I totally believe that it is meanful for people to read fictional books, because they can satisfy people’s interests, improve the ability to creative thinking and relax themselves.
First, one of the advantages of reading books about unreal things is that they can satisfy readers’ interests. It is especially true for young children, since their logical thinking may be not well-developed in this stage while their sensibilities are active. As a result, unlike adults, children may be not interested in the books about political leaders, economic changes as well as social events. On the contrary those books that are about imaginary events are preferable for them.
In addition, except from increaseing interests, reading finctional books can also enhance the ability to creative thinking. It is just because people cannot find prototype of roles in the fair tales or cartoons from their daily lives. For example, when I am a little girl, I love the story about little mermaid and prince. And once I drew a painting about the little mermaid in my drawing class, though merely according to fancy, I got the teacher’s praise. Such stories and ability to creative thinking have encouraged me to choose Art as my major in the college.
What’s more, reading fictional books is a helpful way to relax. No matter in school or at work, most of time people deal with realistic events and contact with real people. They need a way to relieve stress and forget about troubles at least temporarily. Thus the books have nothing to do with real life can bring fun and relief to people.
To sum up, in order to satisfy the interests among different people, improve the ability to creative thinking as well as make relaxation, fictional books are indispensable. Of course, in view of the practical need of society, people should read a lot of books about real event and people. However that does not mean it is at the cost of abandoning enjoyment of reading fictional books. As far as I am concerned, people should take a balance between this two forms of books.
