Hy Torsten!
I’ve read your article : “Englisg more important” in which you say:
"According to a recent survey conducted by DIHK (Deutsche Industrie- und Handelskammer) a good command of the English language is the second important skill for young German school graduates. The ability to communicate in English is even higher rated than an a good knowledge in the field of business and economy.
Friend,
Are you surprised by the above described fact? Why do you think the English language is so important for young Europeans?"
In the last question you refer to Europeans but generally you speak about German people.
Why do you do that?
Have you designed this site for them or you teach Germans?
I think that English is important for everybody.
Helps me a lot that I know some English. Because my work is on computer and I’m used with English terms in informatics. Maybe it sounds strange but I really have difficulties when I need to work with Romanian or Hungarian software especially when is about Windows. The only thing that helps my when I need to work with such software is my visual memory because I know where are the things that I need.
So I think English is useful for everybody.
I hope that one day I’ll “find the everyday bread” ( I don’t know if the expression exists in English or how is it correctly) using my English knowledge. This is my dream. But until then I’ll need to work a lot especially in my vocabulary.
Regards,
Julia
