Education is semi-countable

It just occurred to me that while the noun ‘education’ by definition is countable since we say things like ‘you need a good education’ we next to never use the plural form of ‘education’ which technically is ‘educations’.

Or perhaps, it is countable, but we rarely talk about more than one. If each person’s education is a single entity combining all of their learning experiences, then normally there is little need for the plural until you get to multiple people.

“We came from different countries and our educations were strikingly different.”
“The best problem solvers have broad educations”
(I guess the second could also be “…have a broad education.” )

I see other, narrower, definitions of education, but they don’t seem to lend themselves to occurring in multiples.

Of course, I could be wrong.

I think you pretty much hit the proverbial nail on its very head.
