dummy it

Are these sentences correct:

1-Which players will be benched depends on the weather.
2-It depends on the weather which players will be benched.

3-Where we’ll be tomorrow depends on the weather.
4-It depends on the weather where we’ll be tomorrow.

5-How we’ll do it depends on the weather.
6-It depends on the weather how we’ll do it.

Hello Navi,

All those sentences sound idiomatic to me.

But I would say that #2, #4 and #6 were examples of “anticipatory it”, not “dummy it”; I’ve underlined the “extraposed” parts:

2-It depends on the weather which players will be benched.

4-It depends on the weather where we’ll be tomorrow.

6-It depends on the weather how we’ll do it.

I may be wrong, though; in which case, another member will correct me.

Best wishes,

MrP

Thanks a lot Mr P.
