Does your neighbourhood need a shopping centre?

Hi, Kitos. Please, look at my essay.

The construction of a new shopping centre in my neighbourhood is an actual issue for my neighbours today, because overcoming a long distance for shopping is not convenient at all, especially in the summer and winter months. Of course, some people may not agree with me alleging the establishment of a new mall will burden our traffic and cause pollution around, but I think we should not ignore its benefits like convenience and the development of the district.

First of all, building of a shopping centre is important for the residents of my district. Now we have to go to other part of the city for shopping that is quite time consuming. For example, it is summer in my country at present and temperature reaches approximately 40C on the outside. I have delayed buying some clothes for my brother’s wedding for almost 2 weeks because of the weather and distance. Today I have to overcome this distance to solve the issue. If there was a mall, I haven’t waited so long. In a word, execution of this plan will benefit my community a lot.

Second, a new mall may provide unemployed residents of the district with jobs. It is a significant contribution to decreasing unemployment in my neighbourhood. These people will be able to improve their financial state and pay taxes. Thus, the amount received from the growth in tax collection may be directed to other fields like the infrastructure, the health and education systems of the district. In this way, the streets may be widened and new parking spots are established. Furthermore, new facilities and technology will be acquired for the betterment of the education and health services.

As to the problems are thought to be caused with the appearance of a mall like littering and noise, they may be eliminated by different measures like applying fines against the people violating public order. We should not stop the development because of bad habits of some people.

Overall, I support this idea, because my community would only benefit from it.

This was a bit boring Remula. This topic has been repeated time and time again. We have to change the topics soon, they are becoming boring.
I have no intention of editing your second essay today. It was written less than an hour after this one, You cannot possibly learn anything without reading the errors in this one before writing another. One essay at a time … please.

Kitos. 7/10

Yes, the topic is boring, but it’s one that may be required at the exam. How to change topics? I have a list of essay topics for the TOEFL and try to follow it. Isn’t it effective?

Yes, there is short time between last two essays. You are right.

I have a question as always, you have written the in front of ing “THE building of a shopping centre”, but I read somewhere that we shouldn’t use article in front of ing or how it’s called I forgot particple I or II. Am I right or mix something?

Thanksssssssss

The building refers to the act itself. “Building a shopping centre” is OK, but “the building” is more suggestive if it actually happening now,

Ok, thanks
