Do you enjoy your meal? vs Are you enjoying your meal?

Greetings to all my friends.

I am a new member here. Actually, I sign this up in the hope that I can help me wife to improve her Engish. She is attending English classes and quite often she ask me some questions which I couldn’t answer. I hope you all can help me.

One question for now:

When do we use DO and when do we use ARE?

For example:

Do you enjoy your meal?
versus
Are you enjoying your meal?

Which one is correct and when to use them?

thank you for all your help.

THE FIRST Q. IN THE SIMPLE PRESENT

THE SECOND IN THE PRESENT CONTINOUS

I THINK…

I would normally ask my friend " Did you enjoy your meal? " after I have a meal with my him/her.
I would normally ask my frined “Are you enjoying your meal?” when I am having a meal with him/her.
I don’t know if I would ever use “Do you enjoy your meal?”.

Thank you friends for the coaching!
