Difference between "may be" and "would be"

I have some problems in distinguish “may” and “would”
Help me to distinguish them through choosing the best answer for this sentence , please !
" - How did you do on the test ?

  • No matter what the result ________ , I plan to study harder next time . "
    A . may B . be C . may be D . would be

I think C is the best choice, Qiang.

.
I agree.
.

i also think so . But some of other friends don’t think as us . They think it’s D . would be
Do you have some explanations ?

.
May be: it is a simple future statement.
.

Here too?

He may be here already. Let’s call and see.

And we’ll see in the future.

The “see” is future, but the “may be” is a modal deduction based on the present situation and on the past. Same with “He will have arrived by now. Let’s call him.”
