I know that the members of the forum(not taking into consideration the moderators that have the authority to delete not only their posts) have the right to remove their own posts only in case when none answered after them. The members are deprived of the right to delete their posts that are ,for example, in the middle of the thread. Why so? Recently I’ve posted two partly identical posts by chance where the first one was to be deleted. I had to delete my last message then introduce some amendments into the first one.

Do you think it’s necessary – to give all users the function ‘to delete owns post’ – without leaving a trace?
Would it be good if one user in discussion can delete all previous posts in the thread, leaving opponents stupidly crying in the air? 
If some post were sent by mistakes, usually (at most forums) it’s enough to ask moderators privately to delete the wrong post. Giving the link.
But, as the problem of ‘double’ posts is quite common, users usually just edit such messages, writing [deleted]. It’s clear.
Of course, it’s up to you and you decide…

Hi, Tamara! Your viewpoint has reasonable grounds. But there are cases when some posts are incorrect and their removal cannot impact on the line of the thread.I raised this question in order to delete partly identical posts, that’s all. There are also cases when you cannot delete two identical posts because of the post placed after your messages. In this case you have to ask a moderator to delete the unnecessary one.

I understand.
I only tried to point out that some powerful functions (like deleting posts from the middle of an alive thread) require from users quite a high level of attention and self-discipline.
Without doubt, for you – personally - such a function would be good. But not generally - that’s just my personal opinion.
Besides that, when buttons ‘delete’ and ‘quote’ are so close (and on the same side of the window), they often tend to be mixed up…
