Here, please take a look at this.

I think the writer meant “Corporal Strappi was a shouty man, but he was a damn political one”, but why did he leave it out? Is this common?

And is it “of thirty seconds” the same as “in thirty seconds”?

1-- ‘Political’ here is used as a pronomial. It is a reasonably common practice in some contexts.
