conversation - simple present tense.

A: “B, What time do you get up in the morning?”.
B: I get up at 7:30 am

Is this in simple present tense and are they habitual?

Yes, it is the simple present. And they are habitual if the speaker intended them that way. It’s quite possible that the question referred merely to the following morning.

However, it’s in the past .
So shouldn’t we use simple past in this case?
I’m a bit confused for this situation .
