conditional?

Hello,

could you please make this clearer to me?
I couldn´t find it explained anywhere yet:

“When you do/are doing your homework, don´t copy Internet articles.”

As a teacher, I want my students to be original; it is an general instruction on a lesson. Therefore I am inclined to present simple, from grammatical point of view.

but somehow I cannot get rid of the continuous, as I am trying to accentuate the individual process of writing.

finally, is it possible to use continuous tense in conditional at all?

Thanks a lot
M

The continuous can indeed be used in conditionals. I would use the simple tense in your sentence.
