Ok, I am not a second language learner by any means but I am currently in an argument with my father about the verb form of the the word condensation. Does a can of beer condense? I don’t think so. It’s not getting smaller or denser. So it’s not condensing. Is it condensating? My dad says no and my dictionary sort of says yes but is vague. How would something with condensation be expressed as an action? I know that an option is just to say that something has condensation on it but I want a verb.
Because conversely, one has a conversation, but one does not conversate, they converse.
Help!
The verb for condensation is condense. Condense has two meanings. One is “getting smaller/denser”, the other is to change from vapour to liquid form.
