Chance we have of a

Hi,
My brother has to finish his homework. I’ve been trying to help him it, but I got stuck in this part of it. We’re not native English speakers.
“We’re going to have some trouble downtown if _________ doesn’t stop soon. ______ it rains ________ chance we have of a _________.”

The related vocabulary: flood, flooding, rainstorm and horrendous.

What’s causing me trouble is this part, which makes no sense to me: chance we have of a.

Thanks for your help.

Hi, I think the question must be flawed somehow if they want you to fill in the blanks with those four words. Maybe the words are just “related” and you can fill in the blanks with any words that make sense. In that case, one answer would be:

“We’re going to have some trouble downtown if this rainstorm doesn’t stop soon. The longer it rains, the greater chance we have of a flood.”
