cater to

Hello,

What does exactly ‘‘cater to’’ mean?

In the past, many public parks catered to the wealthy or to members of the government.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

When one caters to others needs (or requirements) one has set services/entertainment/opportunities etc that is aimed or thought to be for certain groups.

For example night clubs do not cater for the elderly and Rock concerts do not cater for the classic music fans etc…

I hope this helps to clarify your question, however, to finish on a more positive note, THIS forum caters to the needs of the people who are interested in learning more about the English language.

Greetings

Patrick

Thank you so much for the elaborate explanation, and have a Wonderful New Year.
