There is a saying that: “Men make homes, women make houses”. Therefore, it is a common belief that fathers are the main source of family earning, while mother takes responsibility of raising children. However, I believe that both fathers and mothers have to be involved in children’s upbringing.
Fathers and mothers play an important role in shaping children’s characteristics. Research shows that children who receive an equal amount of caring from their parents have more chances to succeed in life. Mothers are ones who teach children how to do housework, how to cook and how to organize tasks. Moreover, receiving love from mothers also helps kids to learn how to love other people. They would become more thoughtful and considerate of others’ feeling. Meanwhile, being brave and ready to overcome all the difficulties are what children deprive from their fathers. Those qualities are especially important for boys. Contrary to mothers’ approach, fathers are stricter so it is easier to teach pig-headed kids.
In addition, nowadays, mothers no longer just sit at home; they now own many important positions in the society. Therefore, fathers should share the responsibility of taking care of children in order to provide kids with a well-rounded environment. For example, when mothers are on business, fathers have to stay at home, cook dinner and do homework with children and vice versa.
In conclusion, although the roles of parents in the upbringing of children are different, the significance of both is the same then it should be equally valued.
