Can semi-colons replace the commas?

Lui Wenchan, 34, Veronica Ong, 21, Zhang Min, 28, James Teng, 46, and Chong Kaichen, 33, each face two counts of breaching Covid-19 rules.

Would it be correct to replace the commas after the ages with semi-colons instead?

Thanks

I don’t think it would but I’d prefer it this way:

Lui Wenchan, 34, Veronica Ong, 21, Zhang Min, 28, James Teng, 46 and Chong Kaichen, 33 – each faces two counts of breaching Covid -19 Rules.

Hi, Kohyoongliat.

Yes, semicolons replace the the commas after each age:

Lui Wenchan, 34; Veronica Ong, 21; Zhang Min, 28; James Teng, 46; and Chong Kaichen, 33, each faces two counts of breaching Covid-19 rules.
(Note the comma – not a semicolon – after β€˜33’.) There is no need for a dash in the sentence.

I prefer parentheses for the enclosure of each age; it is less clunky than the semicolons:

Lui Wenchan (34), Veronica Ong (21), Zhang Min (28), James Teng (46) and Chong Kaichen (33) each faces two counts of breaching Covid-19 rules.

My suggested revision:

Facing two counts of breaching Covid-19 rules are Lui Wenchan (34), Veronica Ong (21), Zhang Min (28), James Teng (46) and Chong Kaichen (33).
