Cabriolet vs convertible

I understand that the term ‘cabriolet’ is French and is used in German for example to describe a convertible but what is the commonly used term for it in the English speaking world?

Dear Sir,
The term Cabriolet in English term as :A car with a roof that folds down., a light two-wheeled carriage with a hood, drawn by one horse. A convertible is also a sofa (long soft seat) that can do folded out to made a bed. The term Cabriolet can be described for multi purpose like a Car with roof, and a convertible sofa.
Please correct myself if their is any mistakes sir.
