I think your sentence is grammatically correct but I would use the following version.
Biology books belong in the drawer, while math books need to be kept on the shelf.
This is overly wordy. I’ll revise Torten’s version and reduce the words even more.

So, how do you like this one: Biology books belong in the drawer and math books on the shelf.
That’s even better.
