as/ like

Hello!
In the sentence: 1.‘My brother has the same color hair like me.’ why should I say: ‘My brother has the same color hair as me.’?
2. What is wrong with this sentence:’ It was very freezing on the mountain top.’
Thank you in advance!

  1. Because ‘like me’ is not correct with the use of ‘same’…
My brother has brown hair like me.
My brother has the same colour hair as me.

You cannot use ‘very freezing’.

I’m afraid it’s not a good collocation. You could probably say alternatively:
It was freezing hard/stiff on the mountain top.
It was freezing weather on the mountain top.
It was freezing cold on the mountain top.

Anglophile/Beesneees,
Instead of ‘It was very freezing on the mountain top.’ we can say:
‘It was absolutely freezing on the mountain top.’
Am I right?
Thanks.

I think adverbs like ‘absolutely’, ‘extremely’, ‘unbearably’ etc could also be acceptable. However, you may wait for other comments.
