as I do/ comma

Are these sentences correct:

[color=indigo]1-If they had a proper bank here, as we do in my town, we wouldn’t have all these problems.
(They don’t have a proper bank here and that is why we have all these problems. We do have a proper bank in my town.)

[color=red]2-If you had repaired your car, as I did mine, you would not be in this situation.
(You did not repair your car and that is why you are in this situation. I repaired mine.)

I think the comma in ‘2’ is significant. Without it the sentence would mean: You did not repair your car the way I repaired mine.

Gratefully,
Navi.

Right.

If you had repaired your car, as I did mine, you would not have been in this situation. (Only now will the sentence be grammatical - Type III)

If the person is in the situation right now, then ‘you would not be in this situation’ is appropriate.
