Thanks Mister Micawber, could you tell me the reason why you change the parts please? thank you.

I have changed them for various very basic grammatical reasons which you should be able to figure out. Please give me your opinions as to why they were changed.

Hi, Mister Micawber, here are the parts don’t understand why you change.

In 1st sentence, you use ‘speaking’ instead of “speak” why didn’t you use “spoken”, because I mean I was speak with someone in the past.

In 2nd sentence, I thought ‘advertising’ is a noun, the same as ‘advertisement’, why did you change the 1st one into the 2nd one.

The 3rd sentence, I cannot see the difference between “if” and “whether”, and do you mean I was ‘succeed’ in the past, so use ’ succeeded’, and the last why you delete the " if you may" at the end of the sentence?

thank you very much.

Ian

In 1st sentence, you use ‘speaking’ instead of “speak” why didn’t you use “spoken”, because I mean I was speaking with someone in the past.-- Progressive verb forms use the present participle: ‘I am going’, ‘I was going’, ‘I have been going’.

In 2nd sentence, I thought ‘advertising’ is a noun, the same as ‘advertisement’, why did you change the 1st one into the 2nd one.-- ‘Advertising’ is the noun naming the process; ‘advertisement’ is the noun naming one instance of the process.

The 3rd sentence, I cannot see the difference between “if” and “whether”-- Use ‘whether’ when both options are being considered.
and do you mean I was ‘succeed’ in the past, so use ’ succeeded’-- Yes.
why you delete the " if you may" at the end of the sentence?– ‘If you may’ is not possible in English, although ‘if I may’ is common.

Thank you very much, Mister Micawber. Your explanation is very clear, thanks again.
