Everyone knows that today advertisement appears everywhere, which naturally points out its significant effects on shopping habit of many people. I propose that advertisement affects people’s behavior for two reasons. First, nowadays there are more and more advertisements on mass media that people interact with everyday. Practically, most people have TV, Internet, newspapers available in their house. When going out, your eyes can catch series of billboards, flashes reaching along the street and attractive posters. Those types of advertisement contain words, images as well as short messages designed carefully and creatively, which aims to draw people’s attention. Second, the continuous frequency of ad on mass media step by step forms in people’s mind the product’s positive information. Actually, most people want to buy things which their idols and professional experts use and recommend. Therefore, they are persuaded to consume goods advertised persistently with the images of many famous people and well-know organizations. However, those who disagree with this proposal claim that many people are not affected by ad because they care much about the quality rather than the popularity. In fact, the more products are popular, the more people take up to use. They know the information as well as the quality of a product mainly through advertisements and have a trend to own products widely and longingly because of their quality. Overall, advertisement affects our behavior in many ways, but we should consider its both positive and negative sides in our life.
