adults males vs. male adult

What is the difference between ‘adults males’ and ‘male adults’? Also, is there any difference between ‘adults males’ and ‘adult males’? I came across the term ‘adults males’ in one of my Kaplan TOEIC prep books and I just wonder what other options there are to say the same thing.

Many thanks,

Hi Torsten,

I would suggest either ‘adult males’ or ‘male adults’. ‘Adults males’ doesn’t make sense to me. I would think that ‘male adults’ would be used after perhaps mentioning ‘female adults’.

Was “adults males” part of a sentence? It doesn’t make any sense to me either.

Or was “adults males” just part of a multiple choice list from which you are to pick the correct option?

“Adults males” was one of the options in a multiple choice test question.[YSaerTTEW443543]

An incorrect distractor, then.

Hi Charles,

Based on Alan’s explanation I think “adults males” simply is a typo since all the answer options in the TOEIC test are written in correct English.[YSaerTTEW443543]
