abominable and detestable

Can we use abominable and/or detestable in our daily conversation (e.g. You are an abominable nuisance/You are detestable to express dislike to someone) or they are indeed sound unnatural?

You can use them, but I would avoid using them too often.

Thanks for the explanation but may I ask if your avoidance of using them is purely come from the negative feeling of those words?

In a way - you would be likely to upset a lot of people. Besides which, their overuse would become boring, and they would lose their impact when things were really ‘abominable’ or ‘detestable’. They are very ‘strong’ words.

Yes, I see your point! Thanks.
