Can or do we use the word eatably from the adjective eatable?
When I gave this example (The fruit was eatably good.), there were a lot of dissenting views.

I would say “The fruit was good to eat.” or “The fruit was edible”.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of “eatable”, though I can see it as referring to some sort of minimum personal standard. I think “edible” would be more common though in its strictest sense I would think it relates to food safety.
I’ve definitely never heard of “eatably” and don’t understand what it would mean.
