A Ruff Life Animal Rescue

The subject from here.

Please, explain me what does this phrase mean?

I suppose Ruff is sound of a barking dog or one of its numerous names. Or this is an homophone to rough?

I think that people who are native speakers of English know this riddle…

You are correst. ‘Ruff’ is one of the sounds attributed to a barking dog, so it is a play on words.

Here’s part of an episode of the Simpsons where the dog gives Homer advice on how to write a review :

The dog barks “ruff” and Homer exclaims “Rough? I don’t know, you’ve been pitching that all night.”
The whole episode is hillarious, as is usually the case with the Simpsons.

Thank you, Our Tort System for this episode! That’s funny! Do you know what’s the series where it from?
