Hi, “a little too much” - what does it mean? Is it a phrasal verb?
I found it in this sentence: A group of boys once found out a little too much about my private world.
It means “somewhat too much”.
“Too much” means: more than what is good or proper.
“A little” means: “a small amount” (noun), or: “to a low degree, somewhat, slightly” (adverbial).
So “a little too much” means: “somewhat more than what is good”. Sometimes people know more than what is good for them, or for someone else.
Thank you very much!
