10 kilometers far

“Jack works 10 kilometers far from home.”
Is this sentence OK?

Hi,

‘Far’ isn’t needed in this sentence.

Alan

Leave out ‘far’ and that would be fine:
Jack works 10 kilometres from home.

If you specifically want a word that can relate to the distance you could say:
Jack works a distance of 10 kilometers from home.
but it’s not necessary for the sentence to be understood.

Can I day as below:
“Jack works 10 kilometers away from home.”
“Jack lives two miles away from here.”

Hi,

‘Away’ isn’t needed in that sentence because it could suggest movement and that doesn’t apply to ‘works’.

Alan

Mr. Alan,
Is this sentence OK?
“Jack lives two miles away from here/home.”
